Results of the Revolution
Debt
Because of the many allies to the Patriots in the Revolutionary War, the new independent country of America owed many countries money. The problem, however, was that America didn't have the money to pay off their debts, because they had spent it all during the war.
Treaty of Paris
The Americans and British signed a treaty in Paris during 1783, that stated the independence of the thirteen colonies. Many American patriots breathed a sigh of relief after the treaty, because then there would be no forced way to live, and the United States was actually free.
Loyalists Leave America
The Tori loyalists in America left because they were loyal to the British power of King George III. This created a great population loss in the new country. These loyalists moved to northern British colonies like Quebec.
Uncertain Country
Because there was no law in the newly formed country of America, many people were uncertain about how to live. There were many thefts, but the country could not prevent them, because there was no law stating that theft was illegal. So, an attemp to create law began. -see Articles of confederation.
